Marbella is not only a wonderful sunny destination where one can find a beautiful beach, gastronomy and shopping… we can have a nice surprise if we explore the north of Marbella and go deep into Sierra Blanca and into Sierra de las Nieves. White towns like Ojen, Monda, Tolox, Istan and Benahavis embrace Marbella and make you wanna go hiking and go up any of the most representative mountains of the area, like the peak of La Concha (1,200 meters high) or the peak of La Torrecilla with over 1,900 meters of altitude above sea level.
The Unesco declared this entire park as a Reserve as it enjoys of great views of landscapes of the sea and of the mountains. Different natural ecosystems can be seen throughout the area.
Any time of the year is a good time to come visit Marbella. I personally recommend coming during spring and autumn, although each season has its own charm and range of colors. Springtime stands out because of the great variety of flowers and vegetation that lighten the city up. Autumn time is characterized by a festival of red colors and ochers welcoming the wintertime. There are times when the winter gives us a chance to see snow at the peak of the Torrecilla which is in the opposite direction as the beach.
On your next visit to Marbella we recommend you do a little bit of hiking, mountain biking and go on 4 by 4 routes by our natural parks or to visit the white towns that surround Marbella.
